Missoula Rural Fire District Sends Crew to California

The Missoula Rural Fire District has deployed a Type 3 Wildland Engine with 4 firefighters to
the current fires burning in southern California. The crew is scheduled to be in California and
working on Saturday morning January 11th.
The call for assistance came in on Wednesday afternoon January 8th and the crews were on the
road the next morning. Crews are expected to be gone for about 18 days, which includes 14
working days and 4 travel days. At this time, it’s unsure which fire they will be assigned to as the
need may change based on the day and current conditions.
